Yokomo introduced the new BD8 and took the win. Out of the 10 Yokomo cars in the top 10 of the data charts, 2 were BD8s and 1 was a BD7. To address this minor drawback, the front belt was shifted to the exact center, allowing the heavy motor to be mounted further inward. Combined with the optimization of details such as the front and rear suspension areas, the result is the BD 8: the culmination of our 2016 efforts, a matured new-generation machine with no apparent weaknesses. In terms of driving performance, we have suppressed the car's quirks during power-on\/off transitions and achieved consistently stable speed on surfaces ranging from high to low grip. This stable, high-speed performance, unaffected by the track surface, can be seen in the World Championship final. While lap times suffered in Leg 1 due to defective control tires, if you watch Leg 2 and Leg 3, you can see the impressive performance of Ronald Völker’s BD 8 driving smoothly while other cars struggled. This victory was made possible by the BD 8’s resilience to changing track conditions, Ronald’s cool, calm, yet passionate mindset, and the enthusiastic support of many fans. This contributes significantly to a lower center of gravity, and by mounting the motor further inward than before, we have achieved improved maneuverability. Additionally, the motor mount is secured only by screws in the center of the chassis, maintaining left-right symmetry.
