We held the second team drift event, "DRIFT DANCE." Once again, the venue was the Drift Grand Prix Course at Tsukuba RC Park, and the event was a grand success thanks to the cooperation of various companies.
We completely overhauled the judging method from the previous event, where each judge had their own criteria. This time, we assigned specific categories to each judge: drift angle, distance from the wall, synchronization, and entertainment value. By setting the entertainment score to 20 points, we made it easier for anyone to judge globally and created a competition with a much higher focus on entertainment.
The layout featured a lane-change-style straight leading into a large sweep around the outer perimeter, and it turned out to be unexpectedly difficult to synchronize acceleration during the exit. However, the winning team, KSC, consistently scored high with overwhelming stability and maintained that dominance throughout the finals.
Moving forward, we plan to increase the frequency of these events, holding some form of DRIFT DANCE every month. The next event is scheduled for August 21st, and we look forward to seeing many participants there!
