K2 Circuit Round 8 Race Report

In addition to the YOKOMO 2WD Touring Car All Japan Championship YD-2TC Scale class, which uses the popular YD-2TC known for its moderate speed and fresh driving characteristics, we also held qualifying rounds for the YD-2TC & GT500 Stock classes simultaneously. Regarding regulations, the YD-2TC Scale class allowed scale bodies from other manufacturers (Ra-i-ki-ri GT etc. were prohibited) and set the tire rotation speed to 2900 rpm or less (7.2V regulated). We also implemented a handicap based on the differences in tires allowed for A, B, and C classes (which is advantageous for new participants). The YD-2TC & GT500 Stock classes were held according to Yokomo regulations.

■YD-2TC Scale Class

●Qualifying: Pole position went to the Store Manager, followed by 2nd place Takamori, 3rd place Nakayama, 4th place Tanaka GL, 5th place Tamaki, and 6th place Nakai. From there, it moved to the B-Main, with 7th place Takamura, 8th place Yamaguchi, 9th place Ichida, and 10th place Uratani.

●B-Main Final: Just when it looked like Ichida, who had taken the lead, would run away with it, a mistake cost him the top spot!

1st: Takamura

2nd: Ichida

3rd: Yamaguchi

4th: Uratani

Takamura and Ichida advanced to the A-Main!!

●A-Main Final: 5th-place qualifier Tamaki pulled away, while Nakayama was swallowed up by the pack behind. In the early stages, Tamaki, the Store Manager, and Tanaka GL formed the lead group. In the middle stages, Tanaka GL passed the Store Manager and Tamaki to surge into the lead, while late in the race, an in-form Obayashi picked up his pace, passing Tamaki to slide into 3rd place.

Winner: Tanaka GL

2nd: Store Manager

3rd: Obayashi

4th: Tamaki

5th: Takamura

6th: Nakayama

7th: Ichida

8th: Nakai

■YD-2TC Class

●Qualifying: Pole position went to Takamura, followed by 2nd place Store Manager, 3rd place Nakayama, and 4th place Yoshioka.

●Final: Yoshioka took the lead in the chaos immediately after the start and was pushed hard by Nakayama, but he managed to pull away and secure the victory!

Winner: Yoshioka

2nd: Nakayama

3rd: Takayama

4th: Store Manager

■GT Stock Class

●Qualifying: Pole position went to Takamura, with Yoshioka in 2nd.

●Final: Takamura was cruising with ease, but a surprise spin caused a loss of time! However, Yoshioka was unable to make a pass, and the finishing order remained the same as the qualifying results.

Winner: Takamura

2nd: Yoshioka
