On Sunday, February 15, 2026, we held the Yokomo Drift Single Round 24 & DRIFT DANCE 26th, marking the start of our drift event season. As always, the event was bustling with many participants, and we believe everyone enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, especially with the high number of entries for the Drift Dance.
While the track featured a central straight, the overall layout leaned toward mid-range speeds. The key challenge, perhaps, was finding ways to demonstrate sharpness in initiation and transitions while navigating a course where it's easy to drive conservatively.
In the Expert Class, which drew over 50 entries, Tabayan-senshu topped the qualifiers as the only driver to score 90 points, raising expectations for his performance in the finals. In the single-run final, Otabo-senshu, who qualified 3rd, posted two consecutive 90-point runs, putting all eyes on Tabayan-senshu’s final drive. Tabayan-senshu traced his line with an aggressive run, but suffered from oversteer at the end of the judging area just after passing the final clip! Unfortunately, this was ruled a spin, handing the victory to Otabo-senshu.
Drift Single & DRIFT DANCE will continue to be held bi-monthly throughout the 2026 season. We look forward to seeing many of you there.
