Yatabe Arena Try Drift Meeting (TDM)

In 2019, Yatabe Arena will launch the "Try Drift Meeting (TDM)," an event designed to support participants in drift competitions. This is a new style of competition that explains in detail what judges look for in a run, and where points were added or deducted, answering any questions participants might have. The event will be held four times a year. Since it is not a series championship, anyone can feel free to participate. We planned this event so that more people can learn how to enjoy RC drifting by participating, gaining insights into proper competition etiquette, and utilizing advice from the judges. Beginners and first-time competition participants are more than welcome, so we hope you will all join us.
TDM Features ・A total of 3 classes: Beginner (AWD/RWD mixed), RWD Expert, and AWD Expert The Beginner class consists of roulette-style qualifiers and finals. The RWD Expert and AWD Expert classes consist of single-run qualifiers and tandem-battle finals. ・Clearer scorecards distributed to participants Judging will be performed by a total of 3 people: 2 judges and 1 assistant judge.
  • Judge 1 Line Judgment 50 points + Judge 2 Style Judgment 50 points = 100 points
  • The assistant judge will note points of deduction on the scorecard
By checking the scorecard after the run, drivers can easily understand where points were deducted. ・Guest head judges from each region will participate Judge 1 will be handled by Takahiro from Team Yokomo. By having the head judge from each region join as a guest judge for each event, participants can easily grasp the judging criteria for each event and feel more comfortable entering other competitions, making the world of competitive drifting more accessible. To ensure the quality of the event, we have decided to close entries on January 16 at 24:00. Thank you for your understanding. ・Entry Fee: Single class ¥3,000 / Double class ¥5,000 *However, double entry in the same category is not allowed.
