Masami Hirosaka × BD9 Setup Memo Released (BOMBER CUP in HOTLAP Gifu)

On Sunday, February 24th, the BOMBER CUP, organized by Team Yokomo's Takashi Kato, was held to celebrate the 10th anniversary of RC Shop HOT LAP in Ogaki City, Gifu Prefecture. With the surprise addition of Team Yokomo’s Masami Hirosaka to the event, the turnout reached 61 participants, requiring the expansion of pit areas even into the shop itself, creating a bustling atmosphere that exceeded capacity.

The HOT LAP circuit is located right off the Ogaki Interchange. It is an indoor track fully equipped with parking, a parts shop, a spacious pit area, and a cafe. Designed specifically as an RC facility, it features various amenities throughout, including a safe and easily accessible driver's stand, making it a very comfortable space for RC fans.

Hirosaka participated in the popular non-boost touring car class. Despite a 13.5-turn limit, the regulations on gear ratio and KV values created a setup that was moderately easy to drive and placed little strain on the motor.

In the first round of qualifying for this class, local ace Sakaida showed outstanding speed, being the only driver to break into 30 laps, while Hirosaka followed in second with 29 laps. In the second round of qualifying, Hirosaka’s BD9, now with major setup changes, gave chase to Sakaida, holding the lead until the final lap and reaching 30 laps himself. However, Sakaida pushed hard in the final moments to finish first by 0.1 seconds, securing pole position.

In the main event, the race began with Hirosaka chasing pole-sitter Sakaida. Within the first two laps, Sakaida pulled about 0.5 seconds ahead of Hirosaka, and for the remaining five minutes, the gap remained largely unchanged. Sakaida finished 1st, Hirosaka 2nd, and Kawashima 3rd.

We are releasing the setup sheet for Hirosaka's BD9 used in this race, along with his setup notes from three days of testing at the HOT LAP circuit, so we hope you will find them useful.
