Because the DAYZ track features a low-μ colored concrete surface, it was difficult to create gaps during the tandem drift tournament, leading to many close contests and requiring the judges to provide highly advanced and precise evaluations.
The layout was orthodox: drivers had to accelerate right against the wall, perform a feint motion, and then drift with angle toward the judges' stand. In the solo run qualifying, drivers who could precisely hit both clipping points earned high scores and advanced to the final tournament. However, due to the high number of participants, many perennial expert drivers did not make it through the qualifying round.
The judging was handled by Team Yokomo's young duo, Takahiro and Hayato. Responding to the clear feedback from these active drivers, the participants showed significant improvements in their driving after the judging briefing.
