Yokomo achieves a two-class victory at the Professional Sports Radio Control Car Grand Prix!

The 2nd "Professional Sports Radio Control Car Grand Prix" was held at K-Stadium, owned by Nakamura Model Shop in Fukuoka Prefecture. This race is produced by Mr. Shuji Nonaka, who runs the Fukuoka real estate company "Perspective RE." Its purpose is to "host professional R/C car races to introduce the thrill of racing to people in other industries, deepen their understanding, and encourage their support," as well as to "pursue a race with higher status, including the awarding of prize money." The event is operated through sponsorship funds from outside the model industry. The race features participants from overseas as well as many perennial top contenders from the All-Japan Championships. The high level of competition gives the venue a tense atmosphere, as if a national championship were taking place. On the other hand, a dinner party is held at the venue between races, providing a friendly space for drivers and staff to deepen their connections. The race consists of three classes: the "R3500 Class," which restricts tire rotation speed; the "1/10 TC Open Class," featuring 13.5-turn motors (with boost); and the "1/12 Racing Class," with unlimited motor specifications.

■ 1/10 TC Open Class

Team Yokomo’s Ryosuke Yamamoto, who was in top form from controlled practice, qualified in first place. Sota Goto, also from Team Yokomo, took second, and local powerhouse Takuya Matsuo followed in third.

The stability and track-versatile speed of the BD-9 were head and shoulders above the rest, and despite having only a short time to set up, seven Team Yokomo drivers advanced to the A-Main final.

The final was held over two rounds, with rankings determined by total points from finishing positions. Yamamoto, who crossed the finish line first in both rounds, won the title. Goto, who finished second in both rounds, took second place overall. Matsuo unfortunately dropped back after retiring in the first round, and Eguburo, who finished third in both rounds, took third overall, giving Team Yokomo a sweep of the podium. Furthermore, Mr. Hirosaka, who retired in two out of three qualifying rounds, jumped up from a 10th-place start in the final to take fourth overall.

Team Yokomo ace driver Toto Eguburo set the top time in controlled practice and went on to claim the top time in qualifying! His speed did not falter in the finals, and he secured the win by finishing first in both Heat 1 and Heat 2.

Second place overall went to Yugo Nagashima, and third to Hayato Ishioka. Toshinobu Yanagisawa, who finished 4th and 5th in each heat, took 4th overall. Ryoyasu Yanagisawa was involved in the lead battle throughout, but a disastrous crash in the second round of the finals led to a retirement, costing him valuable points and leaving him 5th overall.
