On December 20, 2020, we held Drift Meeting Round-112, our first drift event in about a year. While December events are typically held as special rounds, we scaled back the event this year to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. Naturally, the venue, Tsukuba RC Arena, implemented various health and safety measures, and we held the event under a fully prepared system, asking all participants to cooperate with measures such as temperature checks and social distancing.
Given that several recent events had been postponed, there was great anticipation from users, and the event was a success, with spots filling up within about five minutes of registration opening. We apologize to those who were unable to participate due to the limited capacity. For those who could not attend, we conducted a live stream on YouTube, and an archive is available for anyone who missed it.

We invited D1GP driver Takahiro Ueno and drift meeting legend Tadayoshi Kondo to serve as guest judges, alongside Yokomo’s Takahisa Serizawa. The layout consisted of accelerating from the outer left perimeter, initiating a lane-change style drift in front of the driver stand, then hitting YDS Section 1 at the outer clip on the right side of the straight, followed by YDS Section 2 on the outer right perimeter, and finally transitioning from Section 3, a left-hand corner leading into the infield, into Section 4. The course required dynamic initiation into Section 1 and precision in tracing the line while maintaining a high sense of speed.

Last year's champion, Hikaru, handled the morning demonstration run. Two Yokomo Ladies, Aina Izumi and Mina Tanaka, also added glamour to the event.
Concours d'Elegance

Although the environment required us to assess the situation right up until the event, thanks to everyone's cooperation, we were able to finish the event safely. Many said they were nervous about participating in an event after such a long time, but all participants appeared to be smiling and enjoying themselves throughout the day. We plan to continue holding events while carefully monitoring the infection situation, so please look forward to them!
