Notice Regarding Event Postponement

This is an announcement regarding the judging points for the Yokomo Drift Meeting Round-112, scheduled for March 14–15, 2020. While the YDS installation and the course setup for the entry class have not yet been completed at the Yatabe Arena, the track has already been changed to the final event layout, so you may use the judging points below as a reference for your practice.

This course layout is inspired by the Bihoku Highland Circuit B-course, familiar from full-scale drifting, and features a judging section where drivers initiate a feint from the straight into the outer perimeter. We plan to set two YDS locations: A-point on the outer side immediately after initiation from the straight, and B-point on the outer side of the right perimeter. For the Expert/D1/World classes, which are judged on the full course, the judging section also includes C-point, where the car transitions into the infield; however, the key to high scores appears to be the acceleration from the exit of the left perimeter down the straight, followed by the run into the right perimeter.

For the Sports class, accuracy and consistency at B-point on the outer side of the right perimeter and C-point (the inner clip) where the car enters the infield are key, while the Entry class will be judged on drifting through D-point, located on a shortcut course from the right perimeter into the infield.

From the judges' perspective, solid acceleration with grip driving on the straight is the key point. The course is set up so that by taking the widest possible line at the exit of the left perimeter, you can utilize the full length of the straight to build up enough speed to achieve the necessary angle and distance on the right perimeter. Executing a stylish exit from the left perimeter into the straight will allow you to improve your overall line, speed, and angle.
