Approximately 50 drift enthusiasts gathered at Tsukuba RC Park on February 19, 2023, for Drift Single Round-6 & DRIFT DANCE 8th. The temperatures were quite high, making for a day that truly heralded the arrival of the RC car season.
It has been a while since the straight was placed at the far end from the driver's stand. The layout featured a transition from a lane change into the outer perimeter judging zone, requiring drivers to maintain solid drift control even through the straight. In particular, the distance to the outer clip after the lane change was difficult to gauge, and as it was located right in front of the judges, it drew some very sharp scrutiny.
We were excited to have professional drift driver Yoichi Imamura as a judge, and the ever-reliable Makoto Kosaka as our MC.
