On April 16, 2023, as spring was in full bloom, we held the Drift Single Round-7 & DRIFT DANCE 9th at Tsukuba RC Park, gathering approximately 60 drift enthusiasts.
Starting with this event, we introduced the Drift Judge System (DJS). The system uses sensors on the course to detect when a machine passes; when a car drives right up against the wall, the indicator light changes from blue to green, allowing everyone at the venue to recognize it instantly. It added more excitement to the event than ever before and has become an indispensable feature for future Yokomo Drift Single events. In addition, based on customer feedback and surveys, we allowed the use of bodies and wheels from manufacturers other than Yokomo, which also became a hot topic.
In the competition, the finals for the RWD Expert class, which had the highest number of entries, saw high scores coming one after another starting from the very first runner. It was a final of an unprecedentedly high level.
In the RWD D1 class, the driver Hikaru dominated the class with a spectacular performance, scoring 100 points in all three qualifying runs.
