The Yokomo Drift Meeting was held at Yatabe Arena on September 10th and 11th.
On Day 1, we held a celebratory event for Team Yokomo driver Ronald Völker, who won the IFMAR World Championship ISTC touring car class in Beijing, China last August. The event included demo races on the on-road course, a photo session, and a general on-road setting advice session led by Team Yokomo. We also brought excitement to the drift course by screening the World Championship final video and holding a toast with all the participants of the drift event.
For the demo run at the opening ceremony of this Drift Meeting, KAZU, who placed second at the previous Yatabe Arena event, performed on both days. The event was also memorable for its glamorous and friendly atmosphere, with many female participants—including Yoshika Murakami from RC Magazine—and a large number of first-time attendees. As organizers, we are truly grateful for the consistently high turnout of over 150 entries and the large number of newcomers who join us each time.
And best of all, we have some exciting news: the Drift Meeting will be broadcast on television. This event was filmed for a new program starting this January on the CS entertainment channel MONDO TV. The show on MONDO TV will not just cover the Drift Meeting, but will be an RC car program centered on drift RC. Furthermore, they are producing multiple episodes rather than a one-off broadcast, so we are really looking forward to seeing how it all comes together.
Yokomo has released a new RWD kit, the YZ-2. Since we hold the RWD class on the first day, Saturday, of the Drift Meeting, please be sure to join us.
Now, the only Drift Meeting left at Yatabe Arena is the Special Round on December 10th and 11th, but there are four more events scheduled at other locations afterwards.
