Yokomo Drift Meeting Round-91 in Kanagawa was held at G-Circuit in Samukawa, Kanagawa Prefecture. Being the end of June, we expected a humid and sweltering event; however, the temperatures remained mild on the day, allowing the schedule to proceed in pleasant conditions.
This event featured 45 total participants across five classes: Sports, Expert, D1, World, and RWD. Just like last year, judging was conducted using YDS, making for an even more intense competition.
The course layout involved exiting an S-curve, accelerating, and then performing a straight drift toward the judging stand. Although the layout appeared simple, it was extremely challenging; a late initiation meant failing to control the car leading to a crash, while an early initiation made it difficult to score points with the YDS system.
The pits were packed as soon as the gates opened at 8:00 AM. Drivers from all over gathered at G-Circuit, including top drivers representing Kanagawa and visiting competitors from the Chubu region.
