　The YD-2 has now achieved two consecutive victories in the Drift World Championships, and thanks to you, it is number one in the world in terms of reputation and usage, known for running well on any track surface. However, when low-grip tires are specified for competition, especially on low-grip P-tile surfaces, it is difficult to drive aggressively. We therefore developed the YD-2S Plus, where the "S" stands for "Slippery." Specialized for slippery track surfaces, the YD-2S Plus features a newly developed hybrid chassis (carbon + resin side guards) and a newly developed dedicated low-profile gearbox with a high-mount motor configuration. Furthermore, to improve adaptability to road surfaces, the motor position can be adjusted in three stages (front to back, neither too high nor too low), and the battery (short Li-po only) can be mounted vertically or horizontally (adjustable in three stages front to back), enabling aggressive driving even on low-grip surfaces.

Main Features

　The most significant feature of the YD-2 S PLUS is the high-mounted motor. By raising the rear center of gravity compared to the previous YD-2 series, it induces roll and increases rear traction. However, simply mounting the motor in a high position can reduce performance at corner exits and during transitions, potentially causing delayed acceleration or making the machine difficult to control. Therefore, with the "YD-2 S PLUS," we completely redesigned the gearbox specifically for this model, avoiding unnecessarily high motor placement and allowing the motor position to be selected from three front-to-rear locations. This has successfully ensured rear traction while maintaining maneuverability.

　The dedicated gearbox transfers drive from the spur gear, under the motor, to the rear. The 4-gear transmission is also structured to increase rear traction through rotational torque during acceleration, making it even more suitable for low-mu surfaces. A 4-pinion gear differential is installed in the rear.

　By changing the mounting position of the motor mount plate, the motor can be selected from three front-to-rear positions. This allows for fine-tuning of weight distribution, enabling you to achieve the optimal balance for the surface you are driving on.

　Only short Li-po batteries are supported, but the battery stopper mounting positions allow for various battery mounting styles. In addition to horizontal or vertical placement, horizontal mounting offers a choice of three front-to-rear positions, allowing you to adjust front and rear traction by altering the weight balance.

　The steering assembly is the same as the conventional YD-2 series. The proven Ackermann geometry brings out the best in front-end performance. Of course, aluminum option parts are also interchangeable.
