These are tapered pistons for the YD-2 series SLF big bore shocks. As a Team YOKOMO brand product developed with the involvement of Team YOKOMO DRIFT members, one side of the piston surface features a tapered shape, allowing the damping feel to be adjusted based on the orientation of installation. Installing the tapered side facing down softens the rebound stroke, while facing the tapered side up softens the compression stroke. Additionally, the piston holes are angled to create a slope relative to the shock's direction of operation; through fluid dynamics, this changes the damping during sudden shock inputs. This provides supple movement during normal operation while effectively suppressing chassis instability when crossing bumps or gaps.
In the drift category, shock settings are often kept on the softer side, but using shock oil that is too thin can easily lead to a breakdown of the oil film between the O-ring and the shock shaft, causing instantaneous impairment of shock performance. Therefore, these tapered pistons utilize a drift-specific 6-hole design with an increased number of holes, allowing the use of around #300 oil to help prevent oil film breakdown. The piston hole specification is Φ1.1mm x 6 holes. Contains 2 pieces.
