The new generation BD5 WORLD SPEC is here!!

　Li-po batteries are currently enjoying overwhelming support in the world racing scene. As of this year, they are permitted for use in the World Championships and the All-Japan Championships, and the transition from nickel-metal hydride batteries to Li-po batteries has begun domestically as well. 　To respond to these latest power sources as quickly as possible, Yokomo has been developing a "Li-po dedicated" BD5. Aptly named the "BD5 World Spec," this is the ultimate Li-po-dedicated machine, featuring a completely optimized weight balance achieved through a thorough pursuit of the drive train layout and the mounting positions of the battery and electronics to ensure full compatibility with the now world-standard Li-po battery. 　Furthermore, the BD5 World Spec is equipped with a newly designed wide-range motor mount to comply with JMRCA sports class regulation changes. With just the kit-standard 96T spur gear, a gear ratio range from 3.4:1 to 8.0:1 is possible, making it a machine capable of handling any motor or gear ratio.

　As a final field test for the BD5 World Spec, the team participated in the European premier DHI Cup race in Denmark held from January 8th to 10th this year, which featured world-class competitors including world champions. From Team Yokomo, Kojiro Umino brought the brand-new BD5 World Spec prototype and participated alongside Ronald Völker. Despite it being the BD5 World Spec's debut race, it defeated strong rivals to take the win!! It attracted significant attention, demonstrating the potential to perform in various situations, whether on asphalt or carpet.
