　The YD-2 is an RWD-specific drift chassis brought to you by Yokomo, the pioneer of drift R/C cars. Its innovative 4-gear drive system provides excellent throttle response and high rear traction. The transversely mounted motor minimizes left-right weight imbalance, resulting in neutral steering characteristics that give you more room to maneuver when tracing the line.

　The front end has also been completely redesigned specifically for RWD drifting. By fine-tuning the Ackerman geometry according to the preferences of Team Yokomo drivers, we have achieved steering characteristics with a natural feel, significantly lowering the difficulty of full-counter drift driving.

　The 4-gear transmission features an innovative design for a drift car. Mounting the motor transversely prevents the left-right balance from being compromised by motor torque, drawing out neutral steering characteristics. At the same time, throttle input increases rear traction, providing stability and acceleration when exiting corners. The sealed gearbox also offers excellent dust resistance.

　To accommodate the counter-steer driving required for RWD drifting, we have meticulously refined the front steering angle and Ackerman ratio. By maximizing the front end's capability during steering, we prevent the rear from spinning out and enable cornering with minimal loss of speed. Naturally, the tie-rod mounting positions can be adjusted to suit the driver's feel and road conditions, allowing for versatility across a wide range of grip levels.

　The carbon double-deck chassis exudes a racy atmosphere. A slightly wider profile promotes appropriate chassis roll during cornering, enhancing stability. This calmer handling improves controllability and makes the machine's behavior more realistic. 　The battery holder can be adjusted to accommodate everything from full-size straight packs to short Li-po batteries.

　These super low-friction shocks feature aluminum cylinders treated with Kashima coating to minimize friction with the pistons. We have adopted 11.2mm big-bore cylinders, the largest capacity in their class for on-road use. When using the resin tires common in drifting, fine vibrations from the road surface are a major factor in reducing tire grip; however, the high-capacity super low-friction shocks absorb these vibrations to secure maximum grip. Being ride-height adjustable, the ride height can be changed simply by rotating the spring tensioner, and it supports springs of various lengths. Of course, you can also achieve the optimal setup for any road or driving condition by fine-tuning the damping force through changes to the shock oil or pistons.
