　The YD-2 S, featuring a high-mount motor that provides high rear traction and is increasingly popular on low-grip surfaces like P-tile and concrete, now introduces a new lineup: a one-piece resin chassis specification that offers excellent ease of handling! 　It features the YD-2 series original RWD drift-specific front steering system and a high-mount motor 4-gear transmission mounted on a one-piece main chassis, which delivers a supple feel through vibration absorption and moderate torsional rigidity. It suppresses front tire snagging and draws out a smooth, realistic driving experience. The high-mount motor induces roll, which is particularly effective on low-grip surfaces, allowing for stable driving even in slippery conditions. By utilizing resin for the adjustable oil shocks and shock towers, we have also achieved a reasonable price point. 　Furthermore, this kit includes a steering gyro, which is crucial for RWD drifting, making it the perfect choice for those trying RWD drifting for the first time. The included gyro is the Yokomo YG-302, a model favored even by experts; it provides high response while preventing hunting (malfunctions) caused by overly sensitive reactions, enabling realistic drift driving. It is compatible with 2-channel and 3-channel transmitters. With a 2-channel transmitter, gain is adjusted via the volume knob on the gyro unit itself, while with a 3-channel transmitter featuring a volume adjustment function, fine-tuning can be performed from the transmitter without touching the gyro unit.

Key Features

　The greatest feature of the YD-2 S PLUS is the high-mounted motor. By raising the center of gravity of the rear compared to previous YD-2 series models, it induces roll and increases rear traction. However, simply mounting the motor at a high position can reduce performance at corner exits or during direction changes, potentially delaying acceleration timing or resulting in a machine that is difficult to handle. Therefore, for the "YD-2 S," we completely redesigned the gearbox. By avoiding excessively high motor placement and allowing the motor position to be selected from three locations (front to back), we succeeded in securing rear traction while maintaining high performance.

　The interior of the dedicated gearbox transmits drive from the spur gear to the rear by passing under the motor. The 4-gear transmission structure also increases rear traction due to rotational torque during acceleration, making it even more suitable for low-mu surfaces. The rear differential is equipped with a 4-pinion gear differential.

　By changing the fixing position of the motor mount plate, the motor can be selected from three front-to-back positions. This allows for fine-tuning of the weight balance, enabling you to achieve the optimal balance for the driving surface.

　While only short Li-po batteries are supported, you can choose from various battery mounting styles by adjusting the fixing position of the battery stopper. In addition to horizontal and vertical placement, horizontal mounting allows for three choices of front-to-back positioning, enabling adjustments to front and rear traction through changes in weight balance.

　The steering assembly is the same as the conventional YD-2 series. It draws out high front-end performance with the already well-established Ackermann ratio. Naturally, aluminum option parts can also be used interchangeably.
