This machine is based on the YD-2Z chassis and equipped with an S-series gearbox featuring a 4-gear transmission that utilizes the motor's rotation in the anti-torque direction. It also comes standard with a steering gyro, which is essential for drift driving, making it the perfect package for those trying drift RC for the first time.
While the conventional 3-gear transmission offered significant advantages in front-end grip and acceleration response, we have received many requests for the 4-gear transmission that was popular in the past. Especially in low-grip conditions, the "motor anti-torque" that exerts force to push down the rear during acceleration will be a major benefit, even for drivers accustomed to the 4-gear setup.
In the YD-2ZS, a newly designed upper deck adapter allows for the installation of the gear case. As the base chassis is the YD-2Z, it also conveniently accommodates standard-size batteries such as straight packs. Naturally, detailed components like Φ4.8mm ball ends and drift-specific springs have been upgraded to the latest specifications.
The YD-2 series is characterized by its overwhelming steering angle. It maintains high controllability even at deep drift angles, realizing impressive drift driving.
Since a steering gyro is included as standard equipment, it is an ideal choice for those purchasing their first drift car.
By using a 4-gear transmission, the anti-torque force generated by the motor during acceleration acts to push down the rear, increasing rear tire traction. This makes it easier to gain acceleration traction and enhances stability when exiting corners.
It is now possible to mount standard-size batteries, which could not be achieved with the previous S-series. It supports various batteries through the replacement of holders.
A large urethane bumper softens the impact of crashes and prevents damage to chassis parts.
The suspension features a wide range of settings, allowing for free adjustment of track width, camber angle, and toe angle.
The upper deck also supports inverted mounting of the steering servo, making it easier to install a slide rack steering system.
By changing the mounting position of the motor mount plate, the motor can be selected from three front-to-rear positions. This allows for fine-tuning of the weight balance, making it possible to achieve the optimal setup for the track surface.
High-precision resin oil shocks come standard. They feature ride height adjustment, and can be combined with optional springs and shock oils to adapt to various conditions.
The rear hub carrier is compatible with high-mount upper arms. It offers a wide range of roll center settings, allowing for flexible adjustment of rear grip feel.
